2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz
The 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz is a compact pick-up truck that shouldn’t be underestimated for its size. This little number combines strong utility abilities with all-wheel-drive SUV comfort. The truck is built on a car-like chassis, which provides better handling abilities, and the 1.21m bed with slipcover is perfect for transporting odds and ends.
The Santa Cruz has some competition as the compact truck rivalry begins to pick up between manufacturers. However, the Santa Cruz leads the pack with a better maximum hauling capacity of 5,000 pounds and other special features.

Trims and Price
The 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz will be available in the entry-level Preferred AWD, the middle-level Preferred AWD with the Trend Package, and the top-level Ultimate AWD. Hyundai hasn’t made pricing available just yet; however, we can tell you that the recommended starting price is around $27,000.
Engine and Performance
All trims will come with the standard turbocharged 2.5-litre eight-speed automatic engine. Under controlled conditions, the truck reached 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds, which is significantly faster than most mid-size trucks. Although the Santa Cruz isn’t an off-roading vehicle, it does have a ground clearance of 21.8cm, making this little number great for dirt-road travelling.
The truck also features a dual-clutch transmission. This configuration is often used in performance driving, as it offers shifting with a higher degree of precision and improved fuel efficiency. The truck will give you an estimated 9.35km/L combined.
Exterior
The truck has a decent bed area for its size. The truck bed has a slide cover for keeping your cargo safe, and you can extend the wheel wells (the space between the fender and the wheels) to carry cargo longer in length. The bed also has a drain so you can carry muddy or wet cargo.
Safety Features
The truck comes with many standard safety features. The Preferred has lane-following and lane-assist, driver attention warning, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear occupant alert systems, and many more. You’ll also get a tire pressure monitoring system, a surround camera, and six airbags in the cabin for added peace of mind.
Technology and Interior
The lower seat cushions can tip up 60/40 for more cargo space. All seats are covered in quality fabric, and the front seats are heated. The steering wheel is leather wrapped and is heated. The cabin has dual-zone automatic climate control and automatic windows. You’ll get a six-speaker sound system, a BlueLink Connect system, and a 10.6-cm full-colour touchscreen.
The upgraded Preferred with Trend Package includes additional features, including a 26 cm full-colour touchscreen, dual front and rear USB ports, a Bose eight-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, and LED illuminations.
